tacs gmbh develops the necessary hard- and software, makes adaptations for the different conditions of the tunneling machines (TBM) and rings and supplies a complete system to determine the position of the TBM continuously. The guidance system acs determines among others an optimal curve leading back to the designed tunnel axis (DTA), calculates the next optimal conical ring and the optimal sequence of future rings to erect.
As a result of the modular structure of the guidance system acs different levels of functionality are easy to implement. This ranges from simple solutions with tunnel laser and conventional target boards up to a fully automatic level, which gathers all measurement values electronically and controls a motorized laser theodolite to follow the target unit in a curve.
