From 1980, PSP - consulting engineers for tunnel construction - developed a computer-aided surveying system for tunnel boring, which was used in several large tunnel projects (for example, the Nurenberg Woerder Wiese underground railway in 1985, Essen underground railway - Los 33; the Storebaelt Crossing).
tacs gmbh was established in 1993. Based on an enhancement of the functions the acs Systemsoftware was redeveloped from scratch. Its first application was on the Munich Gern underground railway project, where it passed its acid test with flying colours (see Literature). Since then acs was used successfully for many more projects.
1995 to 1998 we had a cooperation agreement with the company VMT GmbH. They were using our acs systemsoftware in all TBM projects with segmental ring.
1997 we redesigned completely our tacs Video Target. Since then we are using the Video Target in our guidance systems. 1998 a further step towards miniaturization of the video target was done - the "Mini Video Target" was designed. The next big step followed 2000 with the development of the "Micro Video Target".
2001 an “Explosion Proofed” variant of the acs guidance system was developed and brought in action, for use in hazard environments.
PSP consulting engineers and tacs gmbh work close together. Our close relationship allows us to draw on extensive civil engineering experience.
